StageSource: The Greater Boston Theatre Alliance
MISSION
StageSource provides leadership and services to advance the art of theatre in the Greater Boston region. Our mission is to unite theatre artists, theatre companies, and related organizations in vision and goals that inspire and empower our community to realize its greatest artistic potential.
StageSource is dedicated to:
- Increasing cultural participation through advocacy, communication, and education.
- Providing information, initiatives, and resources to established and emerging theatre artists and organizations in the areas of employment, professional development, and institutional growth.
- Fostering access and non-discrimination in the belief that theatre should shape, as well as be shaped by, the diversity of the community it represents.
PROGRAMS
Over 2000 individual theatre artists, including actors, directors, designers, playwrights, and other theatre professionals, as well as 220 theatre, film, casting, audio, video, service and theatre support companies are members of StageSource and enjoy these benefits:
- E-Newsletters - weekly postings on auditions, job and playwriting opportunities, classes, workshops, community events, and free and discount ticket offers
- The Source and The Source Online - a 400+ page resource guide to theatre in New England and an online database version
- Annual Auditions - an open call of 400 performers seen by 60 theatre and casting
companies
- Circle Of Friends Card - a two-for-one ticket discount card valid at over 50 theatres.
- The StagePage - a printed quarterly calendar listing hundreds of performances throughout Greater Boston

- Boston Theatre Conference - a bi-annual convening of theatre artists and companies
- Seminars and Workshops featuring a wide range of special topics, including auditions, career development, producing, master classes with accomplished actors and directors
- Free and Discount Ticket Offers

- Health Insurance - an association plan with discount health insurance rates for freelance and self-employed theatre artists and staff at theatre companies
- Theatre Community Benevolent Fund - a re-granting program for individuals and companies facing extreme illness, catastrophic acts of nature, and other events who have limited or no resources with which to handle such occurrences.
