"No organization has been more important over the past 25 years to bringing theatre to a wide audience than ArtsBoston." -The Boston Globe

MISSION

Our mission is to promote the performing arts in Boston by:

SERVICES

We serve 170 performing arts member groups (ranging from Broadway in Boston and the Boston Symphony Orchestra to the Huntington Theatre and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project) and the ticket-buying public. ArtsBoston's three core programs are designed to make a significant economic impact in Boston, develop new and diverse audiences and promote greater public participation in the arts.

BosTix is Boston's exclusive half-price, day-of-show ticket source and full-service community box office. The BosTix booths are located in the heart of two of Boston's most dynamic locations, Faneuil Hall and Copley Square. In addition to serving thousands of ticket-buyers each month, but they provide member groups with unparalleled visibility and a unique opportunity to educate audiences about their programming. The BosTix booths are seen by 3 million people each year and serve hundreds of thousands of people as the city's "unofficial arts concierge."

Advanced Ticketing is Boston's only free advanced ticketing program offering discounted tickets to the performing arts. Available online at artsboston.org, Advanced Ticketing provides performing arts groups with market exposure and increased revenue without the expense of database management and direct mail. Our Member Services program provides extensive behind-the-scenes support that improves our members' organizational capacity through:

  1. "Boston Big List", the city's first co-operative ticketing database, providing performing arts groups with access to over 350,000 active arts attendees;
  2. affordable targeted advertising to arts goers through artsboston.org, our daily and weekly emails and BosTix poster space;
  3. discount cooperative advertising in the Globe, Metro and other publications;
  4. professional development workshops on marketing, pr and box office topics; and
  5. the rental of our Advanced Ticketing customer mailing list.
