"Bringing the New England Classical Singing Community Together"
Boston Singers' Resource (BSR) was established in 2001 and has a subscriber base of over 600. Its purpose is to strengthen and enhance the New England classical singing community by providing educational, promotional, and networking information to New England classical singers, to those interested in singing, and to the general public.
Website: BSR currently provides artistic support through its extensive website (BostonSingersResource.org) and its biweekly email news bulletins, both of which include numerous articles about musicians, performance techniques and vocal health, listings of upcoming performances, hundreds of links and music contacts, audition notices, and singing information for children and youth.
Combined Auditions: BSR is host to three (3) regional singing auditions per year. Any BSR subscriber may participate in the auditions for a small fee*. The BSR auditions give regional singers the opportunity to perform for several companies at once and give the singing companies an opportunity to convene and network. Past auditing companies have included Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Cape Cod Opera, Lyric Stage Company, Opera Boston, Opera Providence, Quincy Choral Society, Vox One Consort, Wellesley Collegium Musicum among others. (*Rules and procedures apply. See website for details.)
Subscripton information: A BSR subscription is $35/year. Subscriber benefits include unlimited website access, bi-weekly email news bulletins, free listings on the BSR website, and eligibility for participation in all BSR sponsored events.
Boston Singers' Resource is a fully incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
